Volunteer
“One Unit One Village” Project
NMO functionally is been divided into many units across the country. Units are the functional entities and take up the initiative of adopting a village. It takes up the responsibilities of educating the people on health awareness and overall promote the health by inclusions.
Adopting the village for continued care services will benefit both the patients and the organisation to understand the root level challenges in addressing the health issues. Currently NMO has many villages and has witnessed positive impact over years both in Quality of life and health indicators.
Abhyas Vargh
An initiative of NMO to educate the new and prospective members about the organisation NMO. It is a day long event where in senior members from NMO steer this event across the country. The set agenda will focus the event so as to pass the necessary information to the attendees.
The event will be conducted at State level or at Prant level. The respective unit will take up the responsibility of organising the event and also get the attendees. The rationale for this event is to promote the organisation through awareness.
“Dhanavantri Sewa Yatra”
It was in 2003, NMO decided to conduct a mega health camp in North Eastern part of India. Because of the nature or terrain and non-availability of healthcare services, this part of the country is neglected over the years. It was hence decided to conduct healthcare every year to proactively identify people with medical condition and provide next level of care if needed.
It was decided that, till Government is able to establish the PHCs in the remotest parts of North Eastern parts, NMO has decided to conduct medical camps every year.
NMO National Conference
Every year, NMO organises National Level Conferences that could bring faculties, students, mentors across all the discipline within healthcare. The main objective is to connect, network and get updates on recent community based healthcare service concepts.
It will also highlights the challenges of healthcare system and explore possibilities to address through Government intervention.

“Rishi Kashyap Swasthya Sewa Yathra”
It was in 2014, when Kashmir and Jammu faced huge floods. Post that natural calamity, NMO took an initiative to organise medical camp in the remotest parts of Kashmir and Jammu including Ladakh.
Doctors, Medical & Dental students across India travel to Kashmir to offer their services.
National Doctors Day
National Doctors Day is a special occasion celebrated annually to honor and appreciate the dedicated efforts of doctors and healthcare professionals who tirelessly work to ensure the well-being of individuals and communities. Observed on different dates worldwide, in the United States, it is celebrated on March 30th. This day marks the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery by Dr. Crawford Long in 1842.
The celebration of National Doctors Day is a way to recognize the crucial role doctors play in diagnosing, treating, and preventing illnesses. Their commitment to patient care, often involving long hours and immense emotional stress, is acknowledged through various activities such as sending greeting cards, flowers, and tokens of appreciation. Hospitals and medical institutions may organize special events, seminars, and awards to honor their staff.
Events for Doctors
NMO started with many Academic events – CMEs, Symposium, Workshops way back in 1970s. Now with MCI mandating higher education colleges to have compulsory academic activities, NMO has diversified in bringing in many support service related CMEs to benefit the doctors and students.
Many common issues that are not taught in the graduate program are chosen as topic of CMEs / CDEs to educate the budding doctors to perform well in the demanding world.
Some of the common topics that NMO covers include Patient Communication, Awareness, Uplifting the relationship between doctors and patients, Medico-legal aspect of healthcare service delivery, role of Healthcare IT is rendering services etc.
Nuthan Chatra Abhinandan
Generally called as ‘Freshers Day’ wherein NMO with the seniors in respective colleges welcome the fresh students to the Prestigious and Respected profession. The team welcomes them introducing the life of a doctor and best practices to imbibe to be a best student and the journey towards the best doctor.
A structured program to welcome the new students and orient them about the life of a doctor. A brief introduction to the NMO and welcoming them to be part of the organisation to inculcate compassion within their personality.
Medical Check-up
With the help of Sangh chalaks, NMO organise medical camp and offer end to end services to the under privileged. The program will be structured so that the medical record will be maintained and then the deserved patients are referred to the higher centres through established network of healthcare professionals and facilities.
Our doctors will document the patient history and maintain for follow-up to maintain the continuity of care. The reports that are generated will be submitted to the Government to bring in some changes in the community health.
Day Outs
Our established network of services will help the medical / dental students to spend their weekend / picnic with the remote community and share their experience. The students will experience the way of life in the community and develop sense of oneness to bring in changes in the way we think.
These initiatives will help the doctors to develop compassion in their service motto and help them to be part of the community while they treat.
It gives a great opportunity not just to spend some good time with the community, but also help you think beyond your ability and to master your service through experience
Health Awareness
With the exposure to social media and technology, it has made the world small. Our initiative to promote the health in the form of road shows, cycling, walks, run and also social media campaigns.
Some of the most common social health concern will be selected and planned in detail on how to take the message to the public. We even involved ourselves and with the help of volunteers to make people understand and act.
Across the country, NMO has engaged in many ways and brought positive changes in the mind of public. We feel we are still at a primitive stage and need the support of volunteers to make a positive impact.
Disaster Management
Our doctors and volunteers network across the country has made us work out a detailed plan on managing the disatser, call it a cyclone, epidemic out-break, other natural calamities, we mobilise doctors and volunteers to help the cause.
With more than xxxx doctors volunteers, we could be able to mobilise them instantly to service the needy. Our national level team will be able to coordinate with all the state level team to mobilise the doctors to offer their services.
Culture & Ethos
India is been recognised for its diversity and for its unity. We also celebrate the most common festivals and birthdays of our national leaders at unit level. The event will bring in Indian culture and its values amongst the doctors and hence inculcate nationalism in them.
Our volunteers will organise these events with ease and doctors and students will be the participants. They will actively participate and the volunteers supports the events to make it grand success.
